Want to know my new thing? Rollerblading. I’ve just been out ‘for a blade.’ Woohoo! Headwind and all.
It was my third trip out by myself … and I’m happy to report there were no embarrassing spills and I was halfway up the boardwalk before I realized I’d forgotten my myriad of knee pads, arm pads, elbow pads and … sweatshirt round my waist – bum pad!
Cripes it’s fun. And as a recent transplant from New Zealand, skating up the Venice Boardwalk is a delightful contrast to the village in the rainforest I’d been living in. Which was also lovely, just a little, er, quieter.
And seriously, shoes with wheels – genius!
Righty. Rollerblades are now off and I wanted to share with you an article published this morning on Tiny Buddha, it’s called
3 Reasons to Stop Worrying
About Your Negative Thoughts
Or, as I like to think of it … the good news about negative thinking.
Because there is good news. I know some people say negative thoughts are bad, and that we should try and have less of them; that if we think ‘negatively’ we won’t ever be contented and peaceful. Yeah. That’s mostly rubbish, I reckon. No offense.
Negative thoughts aren’t nearly as bad as you might think, once you understand where they come from and what the best way to deal with them is.
I hope you enjoy this article.

You are amazing at what you do, it seems to come naturally to you. I have been so touched by your insight and thought provoking and inspirational words . Your blog was inspiring as well and both definitely give an alternative way of looking at things and at the world in general. Thanks for all you do and mostly just thanks for being you.

Hi Bonita,
And thank you for your kind note. Really lovely to hear from you. And I’m so pleased to hear my alternative way of looking at things is helpful. It’s a pleasure to write and share my take on things with you. Best and loving wishes, Lisa.

I’d also like to point out that the UC Davis article is the most LIBERAL article on the situation in California’s hospitals I could find. It views the closures as a lack of tax revenue (to fund a ridiculously broken immigration free-for-all). In their eyes, ultimately the problem isn’t that hordes of third world immigrants are exploiting our healthcare system (stealing care and contributing nothing to its funding), the problem is that working American citizens aren’t being taxed enough. And even they acknowledge that Mexicans are largely responsible for degrading health care for all in Calfornia.
