A couple of weeks ago the number of people who downloaded my 7 Secrets Book passed 1,000! Woo hoo! See the comma.
Part of me feels nervous telling you this. As if I’m somehow shattering the myth of the Lisa Esile empire. Like, maybe you thought I already had two comma’s. Tee hee.
But to me, that little comma is a BIG deal. Such a big deal that a couple of times I even logged into my account just to see it.
It’s a big deal because it suggests to me I’m being useful in some way, and one of my real life desires is to be effective, to reach people and make life easier for others.
It’s a big deal because it wasn’t so long ago that I was nervously writing to an audience of 0. (See My Secret Blog, below)
And it’s a big deal because I know that little comma has come about because so many of you share what I do with friends and family.
I’m so grateful to have you with me. (And grateful too for Lori Deschene at Tiny Buddha, the wonderful community website where I’ve met so many of you.) THANK YOU! SO VERY MUCH!
And now I’m shouting. By way of thanks, I’d like to give away two of the last remaining sets of Life Cards…
To enter the draw to win one of TWO SETS of Life Cards all you need to do is comment on this weeks blog post. Anything that’s on your mind will do. For example:
- A topic you’d like to see covered
- A specific question you have
- What you thought of Life Cards and/or 7 Secrets. (Be honest, I can take it!)
- How you heard about me?
- What the weather’s like at your place?
- Whether you think I should stick with a fringe (bangs) or grow it out?
- Who your second favorite blogger is, and if that person’s you, who are you and what do you blog about?
- Or just say “hi!”
You need to be a Lisa Esile subscriber to enter. Which you will be if you receive emails from me or have downloaded my book. Winners drawn, random like, this time next week.
Best of luck! Lisa XX
Update: The Life Cards give-a-way has ended, and congratulations to Cata and Lois who won! But if you’d like to say hi, or share your thoughts, please do on this page or any other page. I respond to every note and love to hear from you!
PS: When I first started writing, I was so nervous I kept it a secret… here’s an early post from my blog. (‘SEO’ stands for ‘Search engine optimization’)
Lauren
You make a difference! I’ve read the 7 Secrets book multiple times and I’ve thought about the information that you have shared there over and over again. Thank you for your contributions and thank you for changing my life and allowing me to see how my brain and my thinking “isn’t the boss of me!”
Lisa Esile
Well, that’s just the sweetest comment – thanks Lauren. Great to hear you’ve got so much out of the book. It was the same for me – discovering that my mind wasn’t the boss of me changed my life too. And even when I forget, which I do at times, it’s good to have that knowledge in the background! Thanks again, Lisa. X
Karen R.
My second favorite blogger is me! I am a motivational writer/speaker and I write a daily blog called Daily Empowerment which sends positive words and inspirational messages to the world!
Lisa Esile
Excellent! Thanks for including your link so I (and others) can take a peek:)
Burgy
I’m with @Lauren^^^. I’ve read the 7 Secrets book multiple times and I’ve thought about the information that you have shared over and over again. I am glad that you moved to our continent. My other favorite blogger is JenSincero.com! Cereal!
Lisa Esile
Hey Burgy! Great to hear from you and pleased you’re digging the book, and I lurv that you quoted it. Cereal. Ha ha. Did you used to say that, or was it just a NZ thing?? And I agree, go Jen Sincero, and her new book too! Hope all is well with you!!!
dee
I’d love to have a set of your cards… it’s “mud season” in Colorado and I could use something bright and inspiring!
Lisa Esile
Thanks for your interest Dee:)
Timmie
I had a secret blog or eons too! Congrats on your milestone 🙂
Lisa Esile
Thanks Timmie:)
Cindi
Dearest Lisa,
I love seven secrets! Absolutely LOVED it! (I just shouted a little). I bought your cards soon after. The one sitting out now is, “To Be is enough.” You reassure me. You make me feel happy. Thank you!
Susie
Ha, Cindi, I say ditto, because I feel and did exactly the same, and I am sitting here looking at “To Be is Enough” in it’s little stand right in front of me!
Thank you Lisa, and you are on your right path, if helping people feel good about life is where you’re going.
Lisa Esile
I love that you’re both looking at the same cards! They’ve been such a help to me at various times it’s such a pleasure to share them with others. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this anywhere, but when I first made them, each card was on A5 sized thick watercolor paper. I used to take them with me when I went away, whether it was camping, or wherever. It was kind of funny, because they made such a big heavy pile. They really are a lot more manageable now! Great to hear from you:) XX
Anne Kruger
Hey Lisa! Congrats on the comma! It’s raining in Seattle! Love your blog!
Lisa Esile
Thanks Anne! Go the rain, we need some of that down here:)
Jason
I just read your book about a week ago, on the advice of my sister (a tiny buddha enthusiast) and I have to say I loved it! The whole idea of NOT listening to that nagging mind talk is sorta new to me (and frankly, not that easy yet – my mind is a LOUD talker!) I love the ideas though, and your style of writing is so entertaining I laughed my way through most of the book. Thank you so much for putting this out there for the rest of us, and here’s to the next comma! 🙂
Lisa Esile
Hi Jason,
Thanks for your comment! It is kind of revolutionary isn’t it – the idea that we don’t have to listen to everything our mind says? And that even if we listen to it, we don’t have to believe it. Changed my life when I discovered this. And it still does in a way, every time I remember! Thanks again and have fun playing with ignoring the nagging mind talk:)
PS: Did you read my article – ‘3 Reason’s to Stop Worrying About Your Negative Thoughts?’ From what you said it makes me think there might be something that resonates in there too! Here’s the link … http://tinybuddha.com/blog/3-reasons-to-stop-worrying-about-your-negative-thoughts/
Vicki
I found you on Tiny Buddha! I love your quirky honest style of writing.
Thank you for your blog and CONGRATS!
Lisa Esile
Thanks so much! And for taking the time to comment:)
frances
Hi Lisa, the main reason, apart from the wonderfully refreshing view you offer on spirituality (LOVED the article on negative thinking – that really turned so much on its head and freed me up -ie stop beating myself up for having them!) is the fact you always make me laugh 🙂 You aint ‘heavy’ baby! 🙂 x
Lisa Esile
That’s so great to hear the article about negative thinking was useful. It seems to be one that’s resonated with a number of people. For me personally, understanding the truth about ‘negative thoughts’ is one of my favorite things to know – stops a lot of the worry! Thanks for your thoughts and kind words and yay, for this spirituality business not being heavy! Cool:)
Heather
I found you through tiny buddha, and I love everything you have to say! Thank you for sharing your wisdom. It’s sunny here today in beautiful Eugene, Oregon, home of the Ducks! Take care and best wishes to you!!
Lisa Esile
Hi Heather – and thanks for the well wishes – right back at you!! Really appreciate the kind words and pleased to have you along:)
Annie Gregson
You don’t take it all too seriously and I love that. You give me hope that my biz will grow (right now I feel as though my blog is secret – but I’m learning how to get out there more.) The packaging around the cards was luscious. And the format of the 7 Secrets book made it so easy to digest.
Thank you for making the world a better place.
Annie
Lisa Esile
Hi Annie – thanks for your note and best wishes over there on the other side of the island!Q
Pam
HI! Just wanted you to know that I really enjoyed reading 7 Secrets. Your sense of humor is right on par with mine and it gave me plenty to think about!
Lisa Esile
Hi Pam –
Thanks for your note! Humor is a funny thing isn’t it – ha ha. Oops didn’t realize about that little pun. What I mean is, we all have a slightly different version of what we think is humorous, and it’s always good when we find someone who shares a similar brand to our own. Pleased to hear you enjoyed the eBook. Best wishes to you!
Brigitta Rácz
Dear Lisa! Congratulations! I’s also like to stay that I love the way to write, your aaproach and your spirit. It is inspiring. I’d interested to read about how do you know, who is the real you. We play so many roles, do we we still know who we really are? Thank you! All the best to you. Brigitta
Lisa Esile
Thanks Brigitta! Really appreciate your taking the time out to comment and for your question as well. Thanks again and best wishes to you too!!

Bevan
Totally agree Ashleigh.
Great work you’re doing Lisa and well done on your milestone.
Having a great summer here in NZ. About to spend 2 weeks in Raglan completing a Permaculture Design Certificate and surfing of course, both being a new path for me.
I enjoy your posts and find every little bit of inspiration helps.

Hi – I found you on Tiny Buddha and love reading your blog – it makes me smile, makes me think and dream. I would love to have your cards – I can see them sitting on my night table – first thing I look at in the morning to start my day and last thing to look at to end my day! 🙂
Lisa Esile
Thanks so much:) And isn’t the Tiny Buddha a wonderful blog – I love that anyone can post their ideas or articles and also that we get to meet one another. Thanks again and best wishes to you!
Steph
Hi Lisa I ‘found you’on Little Buddha just after my mother died. I was off work at a low point and your book helped me to ‘put myself back together’ in a way that is different to what I was. It isn’t easy but I now know I don’t have to be dominated by my thoughts and its fine to just be as I am. Thanks so much.
Lisa Esile
Hi Steph, thanks so much for your note. I find it so very touching to hear stories like yours, I am almost at a loss for words. And if something I have written has helped then I am very grateful. Thank you so much and I wish you peace and love on your journey. XX
Lois Thompson
Congrats on the comma! I found you on Little Buddha! And, well, the weather here in Northern Pennsylvania near Lake Erie, USA is…gray and a little snowy. You asked, right? 🙂
Lisa Esile
Ha ha. I totally did ask .. and now I’m finding it awfully fun hearing where everyone is. We’ve had ‘Colorado in the mud’, sunshine and a storm in northern California and now snow in Lake Erie. .. Now I need have a look at a map. I’m starting to remember where all the States are but I don’t have them all sorted yet! Thanks again:)
Lisa Esile
Hi Lois, congratulations – you’ve won a deck of Life Cards … will email you shortly!

I think you are AWESOME!!!!
Lisa Esile
Thanks Angelina, right back at you!!!

Lisa,
How encouraging… I am now teaching Intuitive Art Classes based on Point Zero method in Australia. I have hired a beautiful art space, bought beautiful paints, soft brushes, good quality paper, and now I wait for the students to arrive… your blog today gives me hope, that my vision of sharing my light with others, will manifest in its own good time…. Tish
Lisa Esile
Hi Tish, I haven’t heard of the Point Zero method but intuitive art classes sound wonderful. As someone who thought they weren’t creative – which I did for most of my life, I love to hear about such things. One thought … don’t be afraid to go to where your people are. The biggest difference for me, aside from actually making the decision to do this, has been to go to where people who are interested in what I do are already gathering. Best wishes with your project!
Kay
Thanks for this Lisa! Love it! I ran across your site and book in my quest for peacefulness. I am so happy I have! Please keep it up!
p.s. Love the bangs!
Lisa Esile
Thanks Kay! And that’s one for the bangs. I think I like them too!
Joan Silva
You humor and wit, dear Lisa, always has me laughing. Your wisdom has me wonder how come I make it all so complicated at times! Thanks for your blogs, newsletters and other articles. Keep ’em coming.
Weather here .. sunshine until moments ago when a storm decided to change the day. Welcome to Spring in Northern California.
Lisa Esile
Thanks so much Joan – although for the record, I can make things pretty complicated myself some times! Happy spring storm weather to you! And thanks again:)
Amanda Terrell
I love being subscribed to your emails! It always brings a smile to my day. I especially love when you do giveaways for the cards. I can’t wait to get my own set. 🙂
Lisa Esile
Hi Amanda, thanks so much for the feedback about the emails. I love writing them too actually… And now I want to put one of those smiley faces here like you did, except I don’t know how. I am so going to figure that out one day … or if you see this comment maybe you could let me know?? Anyway, thanks so much for your comment:)
Elizabeth T.
I read your book a couple weeks ago and it has been on my mind ever since. I’ve been working to quell my brain by telling it “I don’t always have to listen to you! You are not the end all/be all! I have a choice of what I take in and I choose to only take in things that will benefit me. Enough of all the negative energy!” I thought about taking a month to have silence…to get rid of all the useless noise in my life that influences me in negative ways, including TV, internet, and maybe even books and music just so I can be with myself and HEAR myself for once. It included not interacting with people in my life since they influence me, too and my envy monster raises its ugly head. But, when I mentioned it to my best friend, she didn’t react so well and brought up some things to think about (such as “even if you take a month away from everything, the world will still be there when you come back to reality. How will you deal with it then?). So, now I’m a bit confused as to what to do. I can’t take my month right away anyway since I’m helping plan a wedding and have lots of work to do to assist my friend. My husband thought it was a good idea and wanted to do the month of silence with me, especially when the warm months arrive and we can get out in nature again (Nature is a wonderful way to silence the brain!). So, that is my story. Just know your book and blog ARE helping people all over the place! Thank you!
Lisa Esile
Hi Elizabeth,
Thanks so much for your comment. You bring up a number of things I’d love to address but not sure I’ll do them justice here. Might be a good next article. A couple of things that occur to me include:
– How wonderful your husband is supportive and even wants to try it too.
– Being silent for an extended period can be really useful for a number of reasons, but so too can shorter periods. Really and truly. So one idea I had was that you and your husband could just do a day. Or even half a day. Or even an hour. I always advise people to try a shorter period first anyway.
– Consider that relaxing into how things are might be just as useful as getting away. Think of it as practicing acceptance. Acceptance of your ‘noisy mind’, acceptance of any confusion you have, acceptance of …
– Re your friend’s comment – yes it’s true that ‘the world’ will still be there when you get back, but sometimes it can help us to refuel. People were incredibly critical of what I did, but it was always because they didn’t understand. And how could they – they weren’t me.
– Taking a ‘technology holiday’ can also help you feel more grounded and connected. There are lots of ways you could have fun with this. Take away the TV, unplug the internet, etc for a limited time.
Oh, and have you read Richard Carlson’s book – ‘How to Be Happy No Matter What?’ The title doesn’t really reflect the content. I highly recommend it:)
Thanks again, Elizabeth, I look forward to talking about this some more in my newsletter and on my blog:)
Tanya
Congratulations! I enjoy your fun, creative spirit. I am working on my own creative path…trying to figure out what I want to create and share with others.
Lisa Esile
Thank you! And best wishes for creating and sharing what you love to do!

Yay for the chance to win the Life cards!!!
Congrats on the comma!!! Yay! You are awesome keep up the great work you are doing!

Thanks Sharon!
Jackie Blue
Thanks for your lovely emails and neat things on Tiny Buddha. I love the way you think.
Weather in N.M Missouri is melting snow and mud right at the moment. A couple of sunny days are forecast and boy, am I looking forward to them!
Lisa Esile
Thanks Jackie!
Melting snow and mud, is that as romantic as it sounds?! Snow in New Zealand was always incredibly rare. Would make the evening news – even it there wasn’t enough to settle on the ground! Kind of cute. With a large country like this, there really is all weather happening in one part or another. Of which I’m looking forward to experiencing!
Anna Banana
I just discovered your blog the other day (through Tiny Buddha), and after reading the “purpose of this blog” part, I thought to myself, “I need this!” I’ve spent a little time perusing your posts, and I’m really digging this site. I especially liked your post on why you should stop worrying about negative thoughts. It vibes with some of the stuff I’ve been reading about Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which I’m starting to like more and more. Anyway, keep up the great work and I look forward to reading more from you!
PS – I’d love to win a set of Life Cards! Crossing my fingers!
Lisa Esile
The post about the negative thoughts is one that seems to have struck a particular chord. Thank you Anna Banana for your note!!!
Donna
Your 7 Secrets Book resonated with me. I’ve posted parts of it on my bathroom mirror. I’m working on listening to my heart since I’ve always let my mind do the thinking and feeling. Turning off the mind is going to take a lot of practice.
Lisa Esile
Hi Donna, I love hearing you have some of ‘7 Secrets’ on your bathroom mirror! Oooh, I’d love to know which bits ….
Happy practicing listening to your heart – it wasn’t something that came naturally to me at first, and doesn’t always still, but every time I do things always go so much more smoother:) It really works! XX Lisa
Pat
I am a social worker in a very stressful helping job. Compassion fatigue/burnout is a real hazard for me and my co-workers. would it be possible to throw in a few good coping skills for this issue? Your sense of humor about thinking and how to combat the negative stuff is already very well appreciated and helpful. Any further ideas that you may have would be even more of a good thing!
Lisa Esile
Hi Pat,
Thanks for your suggestion – that’s a topic I know a lot of people would like to learn more about. Will definitely keep that in mind. Lovely to hear from you:)

The First Shocker with your book was it was hardly 3 lines per page.. I expected a long boring text but after opening the pfd document I was pleasantly surprised 🙂 That thing really set the pace of and I finished the book in a single sitting.Since then I have read it a number of times.I loved your perspective that mind is only a part and the whole system.I never thought about something like that.Whenever I feel low or find myself fighting with my mind I open your book and convince myself that it is mind’s irrational fear which is stopping me from making a change in my life. <3 <3
Lisa Esile
Ha ha, yes it probably was a shocker at first. Great to hear it wore off and you enjoyed the book, and are finding repeated readings useful. I must say, I do too sometimes:)
Jessie
Hi Lisa
As you know, I love your book, I love the cards, and I love your writings. I too have a secret blog, and I hope someday to come out of the virtual closet with it. However until then I will write what I need to say, to myself and perhaps to others and just enjoy yours along with everyone else! I am looking at the card FREE. And then it says ‘You stand alone’. I used to hate that I was alone because it felt like I didn’t belong in this world. Now I know that I do, and I am FREE!! It reminds me of my favourite poet, David Whyte, whose poem “Sweet Darkness” says “…the world was made to be free in.” If I should win, I have a friend out of work that I know would love a set of your cards. Here’s hoping!!
Lisa Esile
Oh cool – another secret blogger! I like the line you mentioned by David Whyte … I haven’t heard of him, will check him out. Happy blogging and thanks for the note!
Maeve
Hi Lisa,
I am a very new member, found you on Tiny Buddha. My daughter always says to be positive, yer right, that is not always so easy. So you can imagine, when I read your thoughts on negative thoughts, I was blow away. Thank goodness, I felt normal…(what ever that may be)….
I printed it out and have it by my bed and as a book mark, so I can check in every so often. My mind and I have some great conversations.
Then I open an email from you, and it tells me I’m awesome…well that made my day….
so here I sit in the beautiful Gold Coast, you know” Beautiful one day perfect the next”….uummm, raining, raining, raining. has been for weeks, I’m well and truely over it, no I’m not being negative just honest….keep up the good work and I await your next lesson.
With Metta M
Lisa Esile
Hi Maeve,
Thanks so much for your note. I love that the article resonated with you so deeply and that it’s now sitting next to your bed as a book mark. Cool. I had the same reaction when I first learned to think of negative thoughts in this way. Changed my life quite a bit. Great to have you on board and thanks so much for taking the time to say hi! Best wishes, Lisa
Tammy
I found you on Tiny Buddah. At the time I was curled up in a ball unable to move due to believing my mind and the repurcussions that ensued. Slowly I am healing. Reading 7 Secrets has been very helpful in the process. Thank you for writing it and having the courage to share your book and blog. You make a difference.
Lisa Esile
Hi Tammy,
Thanks for your note – sorry to hear you’ve recently been through a ‘curled up in the ball stage’ – although this is probably a silly thing to say because they’re part of life and re-balancing and so on and often a precursor to a new understanding that ultimately is well worth the pain you went through to find it. Still, it sucks the banana while you’re in it. Great that my eBook has been helpful. Thanks again, best wishes and lots of kindness to you. XX
Lor
I have read hundreds of books on how to cure my generalized anxiety. ( Yes my anxiety is and has always been generalized, for about 30 years. ) When i came across your book, through tiny buddha connection, i was willing to give it a try. I was impressed. I knew a lot of the information, but you presented it with such great visuals and humor, that it resonated a bit more deeply. The metaphors, personification, and all that fun stuff help take the concept to another level. Good for you and good for us. I hope you continue to have great success doing what you love. Congrats. Have you ever read the book, Taming Your Gremlin ? I think you would like it, based on your style and ideas! Have a great day everyone.
Lisa Esile
Hi Lor – Thanks so much for taking the time to comment – and for sharing your experience. I get anxious at various times and have an idea of how challenging can be. Great to hear you found the fun stuff helpful in, as you say, taking the concepts to another level. Thanks again, great to have you on board and best wishes!
PS: Thanks for the book tip, I hadn’t heard of it, but I’ve just looked it up and it looks great. Will try and get my hands on a copy.
Vanessa
Hi Lisa and fellow fans of Lisa 🙂 My Life Cards arrived the other day and are gorgeous. I love the cute little pouch too. I’d love to win another set to give away to a friend 😉 I think I found your book and website via Tiny Buddha, but I honestly can’t remember – you know how it is, following links all over the internet and occasionally finding a real gem – like Lisa 🙂 xxx
Lisa Esile
Hey Vanessa! Pleased you’re digging the cards – the pouch is cute isn’t it. Thanks for saying hi:)
rich
Congrats on your milestone. I enjoy reading your 7 steps and seeing what you have uncovered. Our mind has a mind of itself.I found you on Tiny Buddah and was inspired to check out what you had. What a gift ,the cards and the simplicity of your message. Thank you and I did a handstand on your behalf today.Keep up the awesome work on helping us climb the mountains in our lives. You started one step at a time and look at you now.
Lisa Esile
Hey Handstand Rich – thanks for your note! And kind words. And yes – still one step at a time. Best wishes climbing the mountains in your life… although, now you’ve got me thinking – are they actually mountains or is that just our mind talking. Ha ha. Anyway, I totally know what you’re saying. And either way, they certainly feel like mountains. Best wishes to you!
Patti
I have read your book and love the ideas and images within it.
Thanks for making my world better!
Patti
Lisa Esile
Thank you Patti. My pleasure:)
Denise Black
Thank you Lisa! You are so awesome, you keep me smiling!
Lisa Esile
Thank you Denise. Great to hear from you:)
joe
HUGE congrats, surprised its not happened sooner and I don’t doubt this number will continue to grow and grow. I loved reading the 7 Secrets and told all of my close friends about it and they think I’m so worldly wise when I start quoting from it, hehe (of course I give you all the credit). I got the life cards and every day enjoy what they bring but my question to you is: can you share with me (with us all) how YOU use the cards? What ritual? Maybe a particular method? Do you think about something you want or want to be …. I’m intrigued to know how they are used by you and by anyone else that might want to share 🙂 Thanks again for being a fountain of inspiration. Love n light. Joey
Lisa Esile
See – the Lisa Esile Empire myth is shattered! ha ha.
Thanks so much for saying hi Joe. And I love the idea of you quoting from 7 Secrets. I should tell you that I have been quoting you, by telling people that you have been quoting me:)
And thanks for the question re the Life Cards – when I first printed them I was going to include a more full description, but then at the last minute I opted for the more brief version. I shall dig out my instructions, dust them off and make them available. You are not the only person to ask this.
Thanks again, and best wishes:)
Michele
Lisa, I loved your book thank you! It brought some philosophical threads together for me. Now, I need to go read it again so I can keep my brain in check 🙂
Lisa Esile
Thanks Michele!
Lisamaroe
I’m involved in a complicated long distance relationship and not sure what to do. It involves so many people I care about and who rely upon me but I am drawn to this person and what they want to do, how we have grown and separated but still want to continue ‘our dream’. There are kids involved who are not independent and it’s only been 2 months of separation from this relationship. We are both divorced with kids have good jobs but I am always considering my kids in everything I do and he doesn’t like this. They are young adults just starting g to work and explore education. One of them has a pregnant girlfriend who is a great person and we have lovingly accepted this in our home but I miss my freedom as a woman entering midlife. I think I need to set some sort of deadline for my family but they are vulnerable as am I. Who’s going to take care of me when it’s all said and done? Whew! I need unbiased advice here…
Lisa Esile
Thanks so much for your question – there are a number of aspects I’m sure other people can relate to as well. I am intrigued with the use of the word ‘complicated.’ I shall add this to the pile of of queries I’d like to answer on my blog. Best wishes:)
Katie MacKay
Lisa,
LOVE your blog, book and message! Thank you!! I’ve been hooked since I read your post on Tiny Buddah.
I am serious about wanting to “reprogram” my subconscious mind so that those silly, self-limiting beliefs hit the road. So far, I’ve found this to be down right tricky since most effort is from the conscious mind. I do find yoga helps (the classes that aren’t soley based on asana) as well meditation.Do you have any suggestions about other tools/techniques that target getting behind the conscious mind — to get at the belief system? Also, I’m curious to learn your thoughts about tapping (EFT).
Sincere thanks for sharing your wisdom as well as your stellar humor. Thumbs up from NYC!!!
Katie
Lisa Esile
Another great question/comment – thanks Katie! I don’t know much about EFT, though a couple of people who I respect find it very useful. And I’ve tried it myself, though not enough to comment. And as for trying to control your mind – yep – that is tricky. Or impossible. Keep reading my blog and emails, and I think you’ll see another easier way emerge. This too would be a good topic for a an article!!
Thanks for saying hi and that you think I’m funny! Ha ha. A big hello back to you and NYC. I haven’t made it there yet, though am looking forward to at some stage. I hear it’s very big and filled with lots of things to do. And that it’s cold in the winter and warm in the summer. And has a big park. There you go. I’m out. I’m going to have to visit!
sares
Thank you Lisa.
Things have been hard for a long time. Your book made an impact, particularly the ‘calm’ part. I suddenly became very calm. Very odd experience for me
Thank you.

Hi Sares, thanks so much for your note. I’m pleased to hear you found your way to a bit of the calm. It is nice knowing it’s there isn’t it? Best wishes to you. XX Lisa

Lisa,
i wanted to tell you that you are a great human being.I almost lost myself and got the more confused with many readings on awareness and attraction, that is until i met you on Tinny Buddha. Then i downloaded your 7 secrets after procrastinating for a long time.Boy,you healed me.I learn everyday to listen to my thioughts and ignore the negative aspects, plus, your advise that it is OK to have negative thoughts was reassuring to hear.I tend to drift away sometimes into the negativity but i find my way back into the ‘circle’ by knowing that ‘I AM NOT MY MIND’ You are a teacher of magnificence, whatever that means.I just love you.Now am looking to buy the cards.

Hi Abel,
Thanks so much for your note. Really great to hear you found the book and articles helpful. I am so grateful to be able to pass on what was taught to me. I know what it’s like to feel lost and also what it’s like to learn an easier way of understanding. Take care. And best wishes to you. XX
Tina
Dear Lisa,
I found you and 7 secrets through Tiny Buddha and I have to say I really enjoyed reading your book, especially because it has such a different and unique “design” and feel to it. I hope you will keep un publishing books like these!
Lisa Esile
Hi Tina! Pleased you like the design. I must say I do love writing like this. And yes – more to come!! Thanks for saying hi:)

Hi Carrie in the waves and smiles! Sounds wonderful. I bet it’s been a long hot summer there as I hear it’s been in New Zealand. Thanks for your note:)
David
Greetings from your home country (NZ)!
I read your seven secrets ebook, which for me is really amazing as I have a great deal of trouble reading anything that is anything like self help.
But your ebook — I was really impressed with it. It was so similar to the greater part of the main message that I’ve been wanting to teach people, and written so well! It was so easy and fun to read.
High praises for a wonderful message. I found your ebook through Tiny Buddha, after reading your blog http://tinybuddha.com/blog/3-reasons-to-stop-worrying-about-your-negative-thoughts/, which again is what I’ve been wanting to say and learn for myself.
I love it how you tell us to let go of or ignore what our ‘mind’ is telling us — rather than arguing with it, or trying to make the negative thoughts positive, which is still taking the thoughts seriously, which I don’t recommend and you don’t either, do you?
I don’t have a website — I’m still recovering from a long term sickness — but I’m very happy to have found yours.
Thank you so much, and keep up the great work! : )

Hi David in New Zealand!
Thanks to you too – really appreciate your taking the time to say hi and tell me a bit about you.
Have you read Richard Carlson’s book – How to Be Happy No Matter What?. I suspect you might enjoy that too from what you’ve said. And if you’re interested in teaching, I also recommend Insanity, Sanity and Common Sense by Rick Suarez et al. (It’s out of print but available from Amazon second hand for a couple of dollars). I have only recently come across them but they are now two of my favorite in the self help genre. Although the second one is more for psychologists I think.
Sorry to hear you’ve been unwell. I know what that’s like. Can be really challenging. But also rewarding as I’m sure you’ve discovered too. And yes, I agree with you – about not taking the thoughts seriously in the first place.
Thanks again and best wishes to you,
Lisa XX

Hello from the droughty Wairarapa in New Zealand. Really looking forward to hearing more from you, especially your NZ connections…and getting my hands on some of those fine cards of yours 🙂
Lisa Esile
Cripes. I hope you get some rain soon. I know how dry it gets there during a normal summer. Thanks for saying hi:)
Katie
I’m aware that it’s likely too late to attempt to win a set of your cards; however, I just finished reading all your posts on Tiny Buddha, your ebook, and some blog posts and have to tell you that your wise words have made a profound shift in how I’m approaching my “Year of Spirituality.”
Thinking of my meditation practice as “doing nothing” makes it more approachable. Understanding that I don’t have to change negative thoughts to positive thoughts, or even get rid of negative thoughts, makes an optimistic, happier life feel possible. I just have to focus on being present. Thank you!
Lisa Esile
Hi Katie –
Thank you so much for stopping by. And for your kind note. I’m touched to hear so many ideas have resonated with you. They caused a big shift in my life too when I first heard them, and if I’m doing an ok job of sharing them, then I am delighted!
Best wishes with your “Year of Spirituality” – sounds interesting!
And please pop in again!

LOVE the statement that my mind is separate from who I am, that just because my mind tells me things, that isn’t ME!! What would I like to see an article about? How to stop criticizing yourself! The universe has been showing me a lot of things lately, that lead me to believe I need to care for myself more, since I am important and valuable, and your “7 Secrets” is part of that 🙂 Thanks for entering me in the drawing!
Lisa Esile
Hi Karen!
Thanks for your note and suggestion for an article. Have you read my article 3 Reason’s to Stop Worrying About Your Negative Thoughts? It might answer some of your questions.
Thanks again, and pleased to hear the idea that your mind is separate from you resonated. Yeah. I love knowing that too. Especially since mine says some silly things some times!

Shame the cards competition has ended, but it’s okay, I still want to comment on one of these things in the list.
How I heard about you – Tinybuddha article on forgiveness. Which I loved.
What the weather’s like at my place – It’s very cold and wet in Scotland. 🙂
Whether I think you should stick with a fringe (bangs) or grow it out – Probably too late to decide, but I am going to say grow it out
Who my second favorite blogger is – TheAngryTherapist, he has a tumblr. It’s a lot about mindfulness, you should check it out! 🙂
Or just say “hi!” – Hello and thank you for your wonderful and helpful articles, and the amount of effort and time you’ve put into helping me and many others.
Take care!
